Despite the impact of COVID-19, dairy producer Vinamilk’s total revenue and profit in the first half of 2020 still rose 3-7 per cent on-year, CEO Mai Kieu Lien said on Friday.
The COVID-19 pandemic would have impacts on the performance of Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) this year, but the long-term outlook for the dairy producer was still positive, experts forecast.
Vinamilk, Viet Nam’s largest dairy producer, will splash out some VND4 trillion (US$171.3 million) to develop a 6,000-ha complex of hi-tech dairy farms in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho under a newly-inked agreement with Song Hau Farm Corporation.
Platinum Victory Pte. Ltd, a whollyowned subsidiary of Singapore-based automotive group Jardine Cycle and Carriage (JC&C), has registered to purchase an additional 14.51 million shares of Viet Nam’s largest dairy producer Vinamilk.
Giant dairy producer Vinamilk has set a target of earning VND80 trillion (US$3.51 billion) in revenue in 2021, the company’s general director Mai Kieu Lien said.
